Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Servicing NC III (Packaged-type air-conditioning unit /
Commercial refrigeration equipment) is a short TESDA course in the Philippines that will train
you in installing, servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing air-conditioning and
refrigeration units in commercial.Refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics install, maintain,
repair and overhaul residential central air conditioning systems, commercial and industrial
refrigeration and air conditioning systems, and combined heating, ventilation and cooling
systems.As Refrigerators become more advanced, the world has seen a growing need for
refrigeration experts. This is because, today’s refrigerators are expected to provide multiple
utilities. From cooling food to preserving it for a longer period and also repelling insects, a
refrigerator does a lot more today that it used to. This means that there is a need for updated
skills in the field of Refrigeration repair and maintenance. AIT&PE has designed its
refrigeration courses keeping in mind the needs of present time. The Refrigeration and Air
Conditioning Course has been designed to impart skills concerning repair and maintenance of
domestic systems.It incorporates the knowledge and skills required to handle present day’s
technological advances in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. This diploma course
provides the basic information and skills related to servicing, repairing and executing other
maintenance tasks on latest and modern domestic refrigerators and a/c systems.Refrigeration and
air conditioning technicians or mechanics install, repair, service, and design residential,
commercial, and industrial HVAC/R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration)
equipment.
The program provides both theoretical and practical knowledge of refrigeration systems, air
conditioning, piping, welding and electrical wiring. Special emphasis will be placed on safety
regulations as they pertain to using, reusing, recycling, recovering, and reclaiming HCFC and HFC
refrigerants as well as the safe handling and disposal of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).Prior to
starting the program, you will be invited to attend a program overview information session. You
will also be invited to participate in a math and reading skills diagnostic testing session that
will advise you of your program readiness.This is a not an apprenticeship program, but may
provide credit transfer opportunities towards apprenticeship. The Government of Manitoba,
Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade offers apprenticeship training that combines on-the-job
practical skills development with levels of technical training.
