The Diploma Information Technology has been developed to parallel the existing first year course with the added dimensions of Academic English development, increased contact time with staff and focus on linguistic and cultural gaps that will exist for many students in first year units. Successful completion of this course allows you to enter the second year of the following courses at CDU: Bachelor of Information Technology or Bachelor of Computer Science.
In an information technology diploma program, you will prepare yourself for a career as a computer support specialist, computer systems analyst, or similar occupation. Coursework includes instruction in computer science, various programming languages, network administration, and operating systems.
This diploma will make you desirable to a variety of different employers in many sectors, since most operations use computer technology in some way and need people to install and maintain that technology. Additionally, because of the technical nature of information technology, a diploma will ensure that you have the proper training and show to employers that you are qualified to be a computer support specialist.
