This course provides an overview of computing and computer science, including such
topics such as computer history, computer applications and basic understanding
various hardware components. Hands-on experience with installation and configuration is
included. Students will learn how software interacts with and controls a computer
hardware elements. Emphasis is placed on analytical logic and problem-solving skills. Basic
Networking concepts are introduced. The syllabus of the DIT program has been developed to provide students with a well-rounded education covering a wide range of topics and technologies. The 9 courses that make up the DIT program are specially selected to give students a comprehensive overview of the field, covering everything from computer hardware and software to networking, security and programming.
